Over the years, most people referred to this brand as B&W. Founded in Sussex, England in 1966 by John Bowers. Later, he partnered with Ray Wilkins whom he met as members of the England Secret Service known as MI6.

Today, Bowers & Wilkins manufactures speakers, both wired and wireless, and headphones. The technology of the flagship 800 series has a trickle-down effect on the 700 and 600 series. This trickle-down effect creates great value in their lower-cost speakers.
